Hill Buzz

It’s been a while since I’ve done any work on my house but the years are starting to take their toll, so whether I like it or not, I’m being thrown back into my own episode of “This Old House.”  These old row houses have so much charm but can also be such a headache at times.  Nothing is as simple as it should be but, oh, how lovely the exposed brick and hard wood floors are.  Rustic charm in one light, Money Pit in another.

  • Washington Business Journal took a look at the firm chosen to lead the DC streetcar project.
  • In case you missed in the listservs and blogs yesterday, Wallet Pop named Near Southeast as one of the 10 mist dangerous neighborhoods in the country, despite not having a homicide since 2005, as JD Land points out.  DCist, Housing Complex, and Urban Turf also questioned the rankings.
  • Bitches Who Brunch checked out Acqua al 2.
  • Urban Turf takes a look at the “European way of life” around Eastern Market.
  • Lauren DeSantis, of the Capitol Cooking Show, recapped the Military Culinary Competition at Barracks Row Fall Festival.
